Large, heavy assemblies are our specialty. This also means we have been qualified to build XXL base plates for oil supply systems for several decades.

Gesellschaft fuer Oeltechnik is one of the world's leading manufacturers of oil supply systems and coolers for plants in the chemical and petrochemical industries. These systems are manufactured in a state-of-the-art production facility with over 20,000 square metres of production space and equipped with the latest technology. The basis for the huge oil supply systems are the base plates we produce, whose footprint almost corresponds to that of a finished system. Oeltechnik then installs all the components required to operate the system onto this plate in-house. In addition to the oil tank, cooler, and separator, this also includes motors, pumps, valves, filters, temperature and pressure gauges, as well as a complex network of pipes and fittings.

We have been commissioned to provide the base plate for an oil supply system that supplies the compressor of an ammonia plant with 1,223 litres of lubricating oil per minute. 455 millimetres thick, 4,160 millimetres wide, and 9,260 millimetres long, the finished base plate weighs 7.9 tonnes per unit. Our task was to produce the welding components and fabricate the base plate in accordance with the drawing. Before the actual manufacturing could begin, the purchase of all parts, including the paint, was also on the to-do list. After welding, the entire base plate was sandblasted before we could apply the special finishing paint. We coated the top and bottom in accordance with the specifications. For the top, however, only intermediate coats were required in addition to the base coat.

We regularly supply base plates of this type to the Gesellschaft fuer Oeltechnik. According to Michael Springer, Head of Materials Management at Oeltechnik, the "excellent welding work and extremely good dimensional accuracy and evenness" of the panels speak volumes for us.
